The bouquet of bouquet.
I fell in love with wine in my thirties. It all started with a Los Vascos Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. First sip, I was smitten. Decades later, I have the corks to prove it. More than I'm comfortable admitting.
I abhor waste, so for years I pondered what with all these corks. I wanted to make something but not the usual stuff like bulletin boards, trivets, etc. At some point I wondered "what if they were flowers" — and here we are.
This bouquet perfectly captures the first time I had a Viognier. I know wine descriptions can lay it on thick — sometimes to the point of absurdity — but I'm telling you: this one was truly bright, fruity, and floral. We made this bouquet with that memory in mind.
Each cork is hand-painted in two or more colors, capped with a contrasting dot, and perched on its own wire stem. The base is cedar reclaimed from a fallen tree, hand-rubbed with penetrating oil. No two are alike. Together they fan out like something you'd actually want on your coffee table or anywhere that needs a punch of color and whimsy.
