We make things because we have to.
We love the feel of hand tools. The traditional ones, the ones my father and his father used. They're quieter, safer, and more enjoyable to work with. We've got power tools too, because sometimes you need a little more muscle.
We work with what we've got. Scraps of wood, forgotten fabric, cardboard that once had a very different life. We use every last inch. Waste isn't our thing, especially when it's headed for the landfill. If it can be saved, reclaimed, reshaped, reimagined, we'll do it. Even plastic, though we don't love it, gets a second life if it means it doesn't become another piece of planet-ravaging waste.
Our workspace is a garage. Barely. But it works.
Because in the end it's not about the space. It's about the idea, the feel, and making something that puts even a small amount of beauty, joy, and light into the world.
Cheers,
Jeffrey and David McKay
